The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) case study takes a closer look at the development of the agency's enterprise data warehouse, its CMS certification for reuse, and how the platform is being used to improve performance.
Goals: DHCF wanted to migrate 10 years of MMIS and health information exchange data into an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and use modernized data infrastructure and analytical tools to evaluate MCO performance across financial and utilization metrics, assess quality scores, and facilitate care coordination for patients with three or more chronic conditions.
Solution: DHCF partnered with HealthEC in 2017 to help develop the EDW, based on HealthEC's information technology expertise and ability to capture 100 percent of all electronically available data from any system, in any setting of care, in any format.
