A Message From HealthEC

HealthEC wants to express our deepest appreciation to all healthcare workers and first responders during this extremely difficult time.

As a healthcare company committed to data analytics and population health management, we are working closely with state Medicaid partners, healthcare agencies, and provider organizations to address various elements of the COVID-19 pandemic with our data and artificial intelligence solutions.

We also recognize that a comprehensive response to the crisis will require an unprecedented amount of collaboration, private-public partnership and innovation. As such, we have reached out to several state and federal agencies offering our data aggregation and analytics solutions to support their efforts containing the virus.

We look forward to working collaboratively and addressing this crisis together.

Sincerely,
Your HealthEC Team

HealthEC’s Current Actions for Our Customers

The most recently updated data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization has been incorporated into our risk stratification model to help our customers identify, prioritize, and anticipate the needs of their patients at highest risk of severe disease and death. The list includes Admissions, ER visits, Costs, and Frailty Indicator data to further assist healthcare providers with decision making.

Additionally:

  • Educate your provider community on signs/symptoms of COVID-19, particularly regarding:
    • Early presenting symptoms which should trigger greater distancing
    • Warning signs which require either outpatient evaluation in the office, home visit, or evaluation in the emergency department.
    • Essential components of social distancing and infection control.
  • Distribute information on the use of new codes for a claim for medical services
    associated with COVID-19 diagnosis:
    • U07.1 diagnosis code when there has been a confirmatory positive lab result for the SARS-CoV-2
    • U07.2 diagnosis code for evaluation of possible COVID-19 disease when the test result is negative.

What HealthEC Can Do for You

HealthEC can operationalize an immediate solution to track every American who has tested positive for COVID-19 (or negative at the time), combine their encounters with any provider, hospital or emergency room, and compile an individual patient record from these data sources.

  1. All lab companies and hospital with labs that send us the results via HL7
  2. Local, state, regional or national HIEs (Sequoia Project) that send ADT, with the COVID diagnosis
  3. A copy of the claim for each COVID-related ER visit or discharge from the hospital
  4. A clinical discharge summary or EMR encounter that includes a COVID-19 diagnosis as a CCDA
  5. Pharmacy claims for treatment or prevention of COVID-19 disease either in the inpatient or outpatient setting

This de-identified data warehouse can support analytics and care coordination as it creates a heat map of all the cases in the country by rendering provider identification and patient demographics to track the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
